“LIFT” respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Book by LIFT collects, uses, and protects your information when you donate books, request books, or use our platform to support education for underprivileged children in Pakistan.

By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to connect book donors with students.

A. Information You Provide

  1. Account Info: Name, Phone Number, Email
  2. Address: Pickup address for book donation / Delivery address for book request
  3. Donation Details: Photos of books, quantity, category, school/campus preference
  4. Profile Photo: Optional
  5. Gender: Optional (Male, Female, Other, or Prefer Not to Say)

B. Information Collected Automatically

  1. Device Info: Device type, OS version, App version
  2. Location: Only with your permission. Used to find nearest donation pickup/drop points in Islamabad and rural areas
  3. Usage Data: Pages visited, donations made, to improve the App

C. We DO NOT Collect

Payment card details. All donations are in-kind books only.

3. How We Use Your Information

  1. To Facilitate Book Donations: Connect donors with LIFT volunteers and campuses like Mehrab Bhagwal
  2. To Communicate: SMS/WhatsApp updates on pickup, delivery, and impact reports
  3. To Improve Services: Understand which areas need more books
  4. For Safety & Compliance: Verify bulk donors and prevent fraud
  5. For Reporting: Share anonymized impact data with partners like SDG Academy. No personal data is shared

4. Data Sharing

We only share information with the following parties:

  1. LIFT Volunteers: Name, phone number, and address only for book pickup/delivery
  2. Service Providers: Cloud hosting and SMS gateway providers, bound by confidentiality
  3. Legal Requirement: If required by law or by relevant ECP/NGO authorities

5. Data Security

  1. All data is encrypted and stored on secure servers
  2. Only authorized LIFT staff can access donor/student data
  3. We keep data only as long as needed for donation records

6. Your Rights

You can, at any time:

  1. Access your data
  2. Update your profile and address
  3. Delete your account from App Settings (see how)
  4. Opt out of promotional messages

7. Children’s Privacy

This App is for donors and volunteers aged 18 and above.

Student data is managed by parents/guardians and schools. No student phone numbers are shown publicly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. The new version will be posted in the App with the “Last Updated” date.
